Lake Ivor is located at the foot of legendary Mount Blyznytsia (1,597 m a.s.l.). The area of its water surface is just 0.1 ha, though in the deep glacier cirque beneath the Zhandarmy rocks it looks extremely picturesque.
According to a legend, it was formed from the tears of a girl who lost her love. That is why there is one more famous name of the lake – Divochi Sliozy (Girl’s Tears). The lake is about 1.2 metres deep.
The edelweiss (Leontopodium nivale) grows here.
